ESACT Meeting 2017 is a major conference that brings together scientists, engineers and other specialists working with animal cells to promote dialogue and scientific development.

Organized by ESACT (The European Society for Animal Cell Technology), this biennial event promotes dialogue between professionals to advance scientific development. It focuses particularly on the innovation of biomedical technologies. The organizers have chosen the SwissTech Convention Center to organize this conference from 14 to 17 May 2017.

With innovation being the focal point of the ESACT meeting, the choice of the SwissTech Convention Center seems to be a wise choice, particularly because of its location and its close ties. with EPFL.

The modular architecture of the building was ideal to accommodate nearly 1,000 participants. More than just a conference, this event brought together a large exhibition with over 60 booths, various “poster sessions” and more than 20 conferences. The restaurant areas were installed in several areas of the building.

The human size of the SwissTech Convention Center was highly appreciated by the participants. The layout of the building made it possible to group all the activities in the same building and all its spaces were used wisely.

What did the organizer think?

The event was a great success in terms of scientific and technical content but also from a logistical point of view. The convention center has all the facilities and equipment needed for such an event. In addition, it was very convenient to have very different activities (scientific sessions, poster sessions, exhibitions, catering, etc ...) in the same place. This greatly facilitated the interactions between the participants. Overall and also thanks to the SwissTech team and the fantastic place, this year's conference was a great success
