From April 23 to 26, 2025, the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne hosted, thanks to the support of Josie Hughes, the 8th edition of the IEEE-RAS International Conference on Soft Robotics: RoboSoft 2025. Held under the theme “Interdisciplinarity and Widening Horizons”, the event brought together nearly 700 researchers, engineers, and professionals from around the world to push the boundaries of the robotics of tomorrow.

A Truly Interdisciplinary Conference

At the intersection of engineering, biology, design, artificial intelligence, and even art, soft robotics has established itself as a deeply interdisciplinary field. RoboSoft 2025 showcased this richness through keynotes, panel discussions, and exchanges that highlighted the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration to design robots inspired by living systems.

An Ideal Setting for Innovation

With its innovative architecture, modular spaces, and location in the heart of the EPFL campus, the SwissTech Convention Center provided an ideal environment to host this international event.

Toward New Horizons

By placing interdisciplinarity at the center of its discussions, RoboSoft 2025 not only addressed the current challenges of the field, but also outlined the contours of a future where robotics will be more intuitive, more organic, and more integrated into our daily lives.
