Artificial intelligence takes centre stage at AMLD
Applied Machine Learning Days (AMLD) was one of the highlights, bringing together thousands of artificial intelligence professionals in January. Conferences, workshops and networking events punctuated this event, which has become a pillar of the AI community in Switzerland. The high level of involvement from the participants and the dynamic atmosphere helped to make this year’s event a success. On the strength of this experience, the organisers are already preparing for the next meeting in February 2025, with the ambition of enriching the programme even further.
Insomni’hack: The European cybersecurity summit
In March, Insomni’hack 2024 brought together nearly 2,000 cybersecurity experts and enthusiasts. With over 600 participants in the ethical hacking competition and 30 high-level conferences, the event was a real success.
An award-winning year: Swiss Location Award 2024
In May, the SwissTech Convention Center won the Swiss Location Award for the sixth time, sharing first place with the Kursaal Bern. This distinction, awarded with an exceptional score of 9.4, rewards the excellence of the services and the professionalism of the centre’s teams.
TEDxLausanne Women: Inspiring change
In November, SwissTech was alive with ideas at TEDxLausanne Women 2024. Under the theme ‘Reframe, Reclaim, Reconnect’, personalities from diverse backgrounds shared their inspiring visions in an immersive setting.
A vibrant tribute to space exploration
December was marked by a historic evening celebrating the 80th birthday of Claude Nicollier, the first Swiss astronaut, and the presentation of his successor, Marco Sieber, a member of the Artemis generation. The event, organised in collaboration with SwissApollo, was punctuated by captivating exchanges between the two astronauts and musical interludes by the famous SWISS Band. It was an unforgettable encounter between the past and future of space exploration.
EURO Féminin 2025: Draw at SwissTech
Another highlight of December was the draw for the final phase of the Women’s EURO 2025, which brought together the leading figures in European football in a festive atmosphere. This key moment defined the groups for the competition and highlighted Switzerland’s central role in the organisation of major international sporting events.
