On Tuesday 27 October 2026, the SwissTech Convention Center hosted a new edition of the Forum des 100, the annual event organised by Le Temps that brings together decision-makers, entrepreneurs, political leaders, scientists and cultural figures from French-speaking Switzerland.
Held in partnership with EPFL, this year’s edition asked a thought-provoking question: is Switzerland still safe? War in Europe, cyberattacks, foreign interference, artificial intelligence: the morning offered an opportunity to analyse how threats are evolving and the choices facing the country, including:
- the current threat landscape and Switzerland’s defence capabilities
- the balance between security and fundamental rights
- the role of technology in security
- the impact of geopolitics on the economy of French-speaking Switzerland
Leading speakers
Following welcome addresses by Madeleine von Holzen, Editor-in-Chief of Le Temps, and Anna Fontcuberta i Morral, President of EPFL, the stage welcomed Benedikt Roos, Chief of the Armed Forces, Serge Bavaud, Director of the Federal Intelligence Service, and writer Giuliano da Empoli, among others. The Forum also presented the annual report on the GDP of French-speaking Switzerland and honoured 100 personalities who are driving the region forward.
The morning ended on a musical note with Lady O, winner of “The Voice” 2026, followed by a lunch that offered plenty of networking opportunities!
A day full of debate, true to the SwissTech Convention Center’s mission: bringing together those who are shaping the future around the major questions of our time.
