Last Friday, the SwissTech Convention Center (STCC) had the pleasure of hosting the EPFL Welcome Day 2025. Nearly 3,000 new students walked through our doors, marking the start of their academic journey at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).

This student welcome event is more than an introduction: it is a defining moment where newcomers discover the richness of their new academic environment, meet their peers, and take their first steps into university life in Lausanne.
The SwissTech Convention Center, an iconic venue for EPFL students
Located in the heart of the campus, the STCC is one of EPFL’s most iconic venues. Throughout their studies, students will return here for:
- their exam sessions,
- major academic and scientific events,
- and, ultimately, the Master’s graduation ceremony – the Magistrale.
