FAQ regarding the Covid-Free framework at the SwissTech Convention Center
How to check the COVID certificate? And who can do this control?
In order to check the authenticity and validity of COVID certificates, the “COVID Certificate Check” application is available free of charge. The QR code on the paper certificate or in the “COVID Certificate Check” application is scanned and the electronic signature on the certificate is checked. In the “COVID Certificate Check” application, the person checking the certificate sees the name and date of birth of the person holding the certificate and can check whether it is valid. The person checking the COVID certificate must compare the name and date of birth with the information on a photo ID document. In the law, anyone can be empowered to do this, but we offer a complete device concept to relieve you of this burden.
Who do I contact to get the COVID Certificate Check application?
There is no need to register for the application. Like the “COVID Certificate” application, the “COVID Certificate Check” application can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
What should the person responsible for the check do if a client does not present their COVID certificate?
They should ask the client to leave the premises.
Isn’t it the responsibility of law enforcement or authorized security personnel to verify identity documents? Who is responsible for the proper functioning of the checks?
As with the handing over of alcohol to minors, identity documents can be checked to ensure compliance with the regulations. This is the responsibility of the organizer, who is fully responsible for the proper functioning of the access control.
What information should the protection plan contain?
The protection plan must include all the measures taken by the organizer to guarantee the health safety of all persons present at the event. It is sufficient to indicate: the number of people present and explain the measures implemented in terms of flow management, disinfection, use of spaces and training & briefing of the event staff.
At what age must a certificate be presented and how can it be obtained?
The certificate requirement applies to persons 16 years of age and older.
How can people who have been vaccinated abroad with a vaccine that is not authorized in Switzerland and who do not have a “COVID digital certificate from the EU” gain access to areas where the certificate is mandatory?
For these people, it is currently envisaged that they will undergo an access test and thus receive a certificate. The Federal Council has sent a proposal to the cantons for consultation to extend the list of vaccines authorized for a Swiss certificate to the list of the European Medicines Agency (EMA). The Federal Council will decide on the extension after the consultation. For further information, please contact Federal Office of Public Health, Communication, www.ofsp.admin.ch
How long will these certificates be used?
As long as the epidemiological situation requires. The current deadline is January 24, 2022.
